Rabbi Nochum Eisenstein, who was the late supreme haredi leader Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv's point man on conversion to Judaism, says Elyashiv did not want most cases of child sex abuse to be reported to police – even though Elyashiv ruled in writing that credible suspicions of child sex abuse ("raglayim l'davar") must in fact be reported to police.
This is from Dovid Lichtenstein's Talkline radio show last Saturday night. Tzvi Gluck and Rabbi Dovid Cohen, who speak after Eisenstein, are much more reasonable, to say the least.
